Episode 4
Over de A4 - Season 2
DESCRIPTION
The A4, one of the Netherlands' major motorways, opened in 1957 but was only fully completed recently. For years, a crucial 6.5-kilometer stretch between Delft and Rotterdam was missing, leaving the route incomplete and forcing traffic to use alternative roads. After more than fifty years of consultation, planning, and legal battles, this missing section was finally constructed in 2015. Since then, the A4 has run uninterrupted from the A10 ring road around Amsterdam to the Beneluxplein in Rotterdam, ensuring smoother traffic flow and a stronger connection between the cities of the Randstad.
